Introduction 

Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has established an integrated analysis facility in its Analytical Service Centre (ASC) in 2020 with a vision of providing of excellent and recognized analytical services to public, academia, industries, and governmental, non-governmental and private organizations. ASC is committed to provide a highest quality analytical, consultancy, and research and development services.

Objectives

1. To provide analytical services.

2. To provide research environment for scientists and researchers.

3. To strengthen the research capacity.

4. To generate resources and funds.

5. To fulfill national needs in science, technology and innovation.

Instruments

The Analytical Service Centre is equipped with various analytical instruments such as X-ray diffractometer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, elemental analyzer (CHNS), infrared spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, high performance liquid chromatography, DNA sequencer, flame photometer, etc.

Sample Submission

Customers are requested to submit their sample(s) with a covering letter and enough information at the reception office. The sample submission should be acquired with a filled ‘Sample Analysis Request Application Form’ (2 pages) (download from here). All sample analysis will be charged with nominal service fees (see service charges). Analytical services, with a discount price in physical and chemical analyses of pure samples (e.g. X-ray, AAS, GC-MS, CHN, IR, UV-Vis, HPLC, etc), especially for the self-paying research students, can be provided. For which, please ask with the receptionist showing your valid identity card and/or providing a formal requesting letter from the institution.
